The Glen Elder Reservoir, also known as Waconda Lake, spans over 12,000 acres and offers some of the best recreational opportunities in North Central Kansas. Camping, boating, hunting and fishing are popular activities, as are bird watching, trail walking, and visiting the Waconda Springs Replica.
The Glen Elder State Park is located 5 miles east of Cawker City, and provides both primitive and modern camping hookups, restrooms and showers, cabin rentals and more. A marina and fish cleaning stations are also available.
Known for its premier hunting and fishing, the Glen Elder Wildlife Area encompasses over 13,000 land acres surrounding the 12,500 acre reservoir.
